Meet the Attorney
Founding Attorney · Vargas Law Firm, PLLC
Antonelly Vargas was raised in Houston and earned his Juris Doctor from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. In law school he competed on the Mock Trial team and reached the finals more than once, going toe to toe with some of the strongest trial advocates in the state. He moved straight from that into the real thing, interning at a high-volume Houston criminal defense firm where he took on cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies and learned how the courthouse actually works when the stakes are real.
Today he tries DWIs, drug cases, violent crime, and felony matters in front of juries, and he fights in the punishment phase when a client has already been found guilty. He challenges the evidence, pushes back hard on prosecutors, and builds the defense theory from the ground up. His job isn’t to judge you. It’s to hold the State to its burden, and to protect your rights while it tries to carry that burden.
Antonelly is the son of immigrant parents from El Salvador, and that’s where a lot of his immigration work comes from. He grew up around families fighting the same paperwork, the same waiting, and the same risk of one mistake costing them everything. He saw up close what it means to have somebody in your corner who actually knows the system. He brings that same attention to every client who walks into the office.
